Call for workshops
We seek proposals for pre-conference workshops to be held in the 24th International Conference on Subterranean Biology at the University of Aveiro, Portugal.
Workshops will be exciting parts of ICSB meetings as they offer great opportunities to disseminate and learn about cutting-edge topics in subterranean sciences. Workshops can be either in the form of a full or half-day and ideally would offer conference attendees opportunities to expand their knowledge in specific applications, topics, and opportunities for networking. Workshops will be held on August 18-19th, the days before the official beginning of the conference.
Workshop proposals should include the following information:
1) Name, institution and email of organizer(s).
2) Title of workshop.
3) Workshop outline (< 600 words) targeting audience/technical details: depth of knowledge needed by attendees/level of detail of workshop; maximum number of people in workshop; room/equipment/power requirements.
Submission and questions regarding workshops should be sent by email to Ana Sofia Reboleira (firstname.lastname@example.org), on behalf of the Organizing Committee, by November 30th, 2017.
All details regarding the workshops will be posted here online at 5/12/2017.
Already planned workshops: 1) Genomics of cave arthropods, 2) Risk Assessment of extreme ecosystems, 3) Sampling standardization on hyporheic environment, 4) Governance of subterranean biodiversity – legal approaches & instruments, and 5) Opportunities for trait-based analyses in groundwater ecology and bioassessment.
